I'm also having this problem, my resolution is 1280 x 1024! here's a screenshot from the game's opening showing how the dialogue is cut off (and the instructions). I also looked at the screen resizing settings and none of them fixed this problem. :(
eta: changed my res to 1280 x 720 and had less cropping, but it didn't entirely solve the problem. still, it made it playable and I super enjoyed my first day! this game is adorable!
